LIF connectors were developed to meet a combination of requirements: low profile, lightweight, and a secure removable connection. On a printed circuit board, LIF connectors can be used with flat flexible cables, WR-FFC series. Compared to ZIF, LIF connectors are better for static applications because they use friction to secure the FFC, contain no moving parts, and are more cost-effective.
